The United States and the Republic of Korea (ROK) announced they will end their annual large-scale military exercises as Washington tries to improve ties with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The announcement came after the military chiefs from the U.S. and ROK spoke on the phone. Both agreed to replace the drills with smaller combat-readiness exercises.
