2 Nepalese men arrested for placing bicycle on train tracks

Police on Tuesday said they have arrested two Nepalese men for placing a stolen bicycle on train tracks in Tokyo’s Itabashi Ward in December.

According to police, the two men, aged 21 and 22, who are vocational school students, have admitted to the charge and said they were drunk at the time.

Police said the two suspects admitted stealing the bike from outside a nearby apartment building and placed it on the tracks of the Tobu Tojo Line early on the morning of Dec 20.

The first train of the morning ran over the bike and was damaged, causing delays to subsequent services. No one on the train was injured.
